Client - University of Washington
The University of Washington Extension contracted with Clear Creek Solutions to provide instruction for a series of three workshops on how to model low impact development (LID) facilities and practices using the Western Washington Hydrology Model (WWHM).
The three LID workshops focused on bioretention/rain gardens, permeable pavement, and green roofs.
Doug Beyerlein of Clear Creek Solutions presented the details of LID modeling showing how to model bioretention/rain gardens, permeable pavement, and green roofs with WWHM using both implicit and explicit procedures and methods (explicit is better).
He discussed issues related to LID modeling assumptions, feasibility of design, and practical limitations.
